Here are a few tips to help create a great reference photo for your pet portrait.
A better photo will result in a better drawing.

1. Take a picture in natural light. Either near a window or outside out of direct sunlight
2. Lower angles (with camera in line with your pet's head) will usually look better than a higher angle looking down.
3. Eye contact will make the image more engaging. Holding a treat by your phone/camera can be a good way of grabbing their attention if they won't keep still!
4. Detail and exposure. Can you see the texture in the fur? It the photo is blurry,
or overly bright or dark their won't be clear details to draw from.
